Sens. Ossoff, Rev. Warnock Delivering Resources to Preserve Military History in Columbus

Columbus, Ga. — U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock are delivering resources to preserve military history in Columbus.

Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock brought Republicans and Democrats together to help Columbus State University (CSU) preserve a growing collection of military history archives. According to local leaders, the funding will help Columbus State preserve records and support further research.

Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock are delivering $175,000 for the project through bipartisan government funding legislation that became law on February 3.

“Senator Reverend Warnock and I are delivering these resources to help preserve military history in Columbus for generations to come,” Sen. Ossoff said.

“Georgia is a proud military state with a rich history. I am proud to have worked with Senator Ossoff to help preserve this legacy in Columbus for years to come,” said Senator Warnock.

“Sen. Ossoff’s and Sen. Warnock’s support is undergirding Columbus State University’s commitment to preserving and studying the U.S. military’s vital contributions to America and the world,” said Columbus State University President Stuart Rayfield. “This funding will spur more support and activity, advancing the university’s growing reputation as a destination where students and scholars alike can deepen their understanding and appreciation of the military, those who serve in it, its role in the world, and its place in U.S. culture.”
