Sen. Ossoff Delivering Resources to Build More Affordable Housing in Atlanta

Atlanta, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering resources to build new affordable housing for Atlanta families.

Sen. Ossoff is delivering resources to Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, supporting its ongoing work in the Browns Mill Village Development, a mixed-income community of owner-occupied homes in Atlanta.

The Federal funding will help build an additional 20 homes in the development.

Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to deliver $2,000,000 for the project through this year’s bipartisan government funding package.

“Georgia families urgently need more affordable housing. That’s why I brought Republicans and Democrats together to strengthen Atlanta Habitat’s efforts to build new housing units for families across Atlanta. I thank Atlanta Habitat for Humanity President and CEO Alan Ferguson for bringing this proposal to my office and for his leadership in the community,” Sen. Ossoff said.

“Atlanta Habitat is so thankful for the allocation of Congressional Directed Spending facilitated by Senator Ossoff and his tremendously supportive team. These funds will allow us to create 20 additional homeowners as we begin the second phase of Browns Mill Village, our inaugural mixed-income homeownership community in southeast Atlanta. By directing funds towards building homes, Senator Ossoff has helped address the housing shortage, support economic growth, and enhance the overall well-being of the Orchard Knob community. The impact of this Congressional Directed Spending will create positive outcomes for our families that will transform their lives for generations to come,” said Dr. Alan Ferguson, President & CEO Atlanta Habitat for Humanity.
