WATCH: Sen. Ossoff Secures Commitment from U.S. Air Force to Help Upgrade Robins AFB Air Logistics Complex

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff today secured a commitment from the U.S. Air Force to help upgrade infrastructure at Robins Air Force Base’s Air Logistics Complex.

Sen. Ossoff, Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction, today held a hearing about funding priorities for military construction projects and highlighted key projects in Georgia, including upgrades needed at Robins.

In 2024, Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to deliver $50 million to help build a Battle Management Combined Operations Complex for the new missions at Robins.

Sen. Ossoff serves as the top Democrat on the Military Construction Appropriations Subcommittee, positioning him to fight for and deliver Federal funding for key Georgia projects impacting national security, military readiness, quality-of-life for servicemembers and military families, and more.

During the hearing, Sen. Ossoff spoke with Lieutenant General Tom D. Miller, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Engineering, and Force Protection for the United States Air Force, and raised the importance of Robins AFB to Warner Robins, the State of Georgia, and the entire nation.

“I do want to discuss Robins and again, you and I discussed this yesterday, but I want to raise here in this public setting, once again with you, the condition of the Air Logistics Complex. You know how extraordinary the work being done at Robins is in terms of all of the maintenance, and not just on the airframes, but also the avionics and so many of the systems, but that Air Logistics Complex really needs more investment. The condition of the facilities, degradation, neglect, faulty construction, it’s a disservice to the airmen and civilians who are there making sure that the Air Force has aircraft, avionics systems that are in the state they need to be in,” said Ranking Member Ossoff.

“So I’m asking you here for your commitment to work with me and the Subcommittee and the leadership at Robins to accelerate investment in key projects at Robins that may include FSRM funding and to upgrade facilities at the Air Logistics Complex,” Ranking Member Ossoff continued.

Sen. Ossoff secured Lieutenant General Miller’s commitment to work with him, the Subcommittee, the community, and Robins leadership to upgrade infrastructure and quality-of-life for servicemembers and their families.

Sen. Ossoff continues working to support Robins AFB.

Last December, Sen. Ossoff passed into law his Robins Facilities Enhancement Act to authorize next steps of construction for the new Battle Management Complex as part of the 2025 National Defense Authorization Act and was signed into law.

In 2022, Sens. Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock brought Senate Armed Services Committee Chair Jack Reed (D-RI) to Robins AFB to highlight the important role Robins AFB plays in U.S. national security.
