Sen. Ossoff Leads Georgia Congressional Delegation in Honoring World Series Champion Atlanta Braves

Washington, D.C. –– Georgia U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff today led the entire Georgia Congressional delegation in congratulating the Atlanta Braves for winning the 2021 Major League Baseball World Series.

Sen. Ossoff introduced a U.S. Senate resolution to honor the Braves, who defeated the Houston Astros last night to win the World Series four games to two, their first World Series title since 1995.

The resolution also honors Braves legend Hank Aaron, who passed away earlier this year.

“I remember exactly where I was in 1995 when the Braves last won the World Series. Likewise, I’ll never forget where I was last night as our team brought home another world championship. Congratulations to the players and entire organization. Georgia is proud,” said Sen. Ossoff.

Reps. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA-11) and Nikema Williams (D-GA-05) introduced the resolution in the House of Representatives.

The resolution was co-sponsored by the rest of the Georgia Congressional Delegation: Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock and Reps. Buddy Carter (R-GA-01), Sanford Bishop (D-GA-02), Drew Ferguson (R-GA-03), Hank Johnson (D-GA-04), Lucy McBath (GA-06), Carolyn Bourdeaux (D-GA-07), Austin Scott (R-GA-08), Andrew Clyde (R-GA-09), Jody Hice (R-GA-10), Rick Allen (R-GA-12), David Scott (D-GA-13), and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA-14).
