Sen. Ossoff Delivering Resources to Upgrade Cochran’s Water Infrastructure

Cochran, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering new resources to upgrade water infrastructure and improve quality of life for families in Cochran.

Sen. Ossoff today announced he is delivering Federal funding to help replace the city’s lift station, a key part of its water infrastructure. The Federal funding will help Cochran upgrade a sewage system that has not seen many upgrades since it was built in the 1950s and 1960s.

Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to deliver $700,000 for the project through this year’s bipartisan government funding package.

“I’m delivering new resources to upgrade water infrastructure for families in Cochran. I will continue working to secure upgrades for Georgia’s infrastructure to keep communities safe and upgrade quality of life,” Sen. Ossoff said. “I thank Mayor Billy Yeomans and city leaders for bringing this proposal to my office and for their leadership in the community.”

“The $700,000 grant that Senator Ossoff secured for the City of Cochran to improve our wastewater improvement projects, which are main sewer lift station repair and relocation of our belt press into the blower house at the treatment plant, will benefit our citizens for now and many years to come,” said Cochran Mayor Billy A. Yeomans. “Senator Ossoff and his staff worked with us, advising our staff on the progress at all levels. When the Budget was approved, and the President had signed it, he personally phoned, to inform me of the good news. It is great to know that Senator Ossoff is there to help a small community like ours when a need arises. Thank you, Sir, from a grateful City.”
