Sen. Ossoff Delivering Resources to Strengthen Public Safety in Treutlen County

Soperton, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering resources to strengthen law enforcement transparency in Treutlen County.

Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to deliver new body cameras to the Treutlen County Sheriff’s Office to strengthen public safety and transparency.

The Federal resources will help the Sheriff’s Office purchase in-car and body cameras and an interview room video camera that would be used to document operations and increase transparency in law enforcement.

Sen. Ossoff is delivering $249,000 for the project through bipartisan government funding legislation that became law on January 23.

“Body cameras provide the transparency and accountability we require from our public safety officials in Georgia,” Sen. Ossoff said. “That’s why I brought Republicans and Democrats together to strengthen law enforcement transparency in Treutlen County.”
