READOUT: Sen. Ossoff Meets with U.S. Ambassador to Israel Thomas Nides

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff met via videoconference Tuesday with U.S. Ambassador to Israel Thomas Nides.

Sen. Ossoff and Ambassador Nides discussed regional security in the Middle East and the vital U.S.-Israel alliance.

Sen. Ossoff affirmed his commitment to working toward a future when Israelis and Palestinians alike can flourish in peace.

Sen. Ossoff continues to forge strong working relationships with key leaders in the Middle East.

Sen. Ossoff met twice last year with Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid — once in Israel and once in the United States — as well as with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Israeli President Isaac Herzog, and Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh.

Last November, Sen. Ossoff hosted Lebanon Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun in Washington for consultations on regional security following their September meeting in Beirut.

In recent months, Sen. Ossoff met twice with Israeli Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Idan Roll.
