Sen. Ossoff Upgrading Stormwater Infrastructure in Hampton

Hampton, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering resources to upgrade stormwater infrastructure in Hampton.

Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats in Congress together to help the City of Hampton implement critical stormwater infrastructure improvements and reduce flooding along Woolsey Road.

According to local officials, the area has experienced flooding that has led to erosion, impassable roads, sinkholes in residential area, and flood related pest issues in and around homes.

Sen. Ossoff is delivering $954,000 for the project through bipartisan government funding legislation that became law on January 23.

“Bringing Republicans and Democrats together, I’m delivering new resources to upgrade water infrastructure for families in Hampton,” Sen. Ossoff said. “I will continue working to secure upgrades for Georgia’s infrastructure to keep communities safe and upgrade quality of life.”

“The City of Hampton is truly grateful to receive the CDS award for the Woolsey Road Stormwater Improvements Project. For months, our residents called City Hall asking if there was any news. When we were finally able to share this announcement, the joy in their voices was incredibly moving,” said Mayor Ann N. Tarpley. “Our citizens never lost faith in this project, and they believe—just as we do—that they played an important role in this success.”
