Sen. Ossoff Delivering Resources to Strengthen Public Safety in Riverdale

Riverdale, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering resources to strengthen public safety in Riverdale.

Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to help the Riverdale Police Department purchase new vehicles and equipment to replace their aging fleet.

According to the City of Riverdale, their current fleet of police vehicles is aging and prone to mechanical issues and breakdowns, posing a significant risk to the safety of officers and harming the ability of City police to respond promptly to emergencies. These new vehicles will help address these concerns and allow City law enforcement to do their job safely and effectively.

Sen. Ossoff is delivering $784,000 for the project through bipartisan government funding legislation that became law on January 23.

“Georgians deserves to feel safe in their communities,” Sen. Ossoff said. “Bringing Republicans and Democrats together, I’m delivering resources to help the Riverdale Police Department purchase new vehicles.”

“I am pleased to announce that the City of Riverdale has been awarded a Federal appropriation of $784,000 to help the Riverdale Police Department purchase new vehicles and equipment and strengthen public safety in the City,” said Riverdale Mayor Evelyn Wynn-Dixon. “I thank Senator Ossoff for delivering this Federal funding to support critical City priorities.”
