Sen. Ossoff Helps Pass Annual Defense Authorization Bill with Key Georgia Wins

Washington, D.C. — This week, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff voted to pass this year’s National Defense Authorization Act, which passed the U.S. Senate yesterday and now heads to the President’s desk to become law. 

This year’s NDAA includes a pay raise for junior-enlisted personnel and several key authorizations for projects across Georgia installations. 

Please find a summary below of wins Sen. Ossoff helped secure for Georgia in this year’s NDAA

  • Military Pay Raise: Authorizes a 3.8% pay raise across the board for military personnel.   
  • Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay: Authorizes $119.03 million for the construction of a Trident Refit Facility at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. As Ranking Member of the Military Construction Appropriations Subcommittee, Sen. Ossoff previously secured $119.03 million for this project in the bipartisan military construction funding bill. 
  • Moody AFB: Authorizes $35 million for the construction of an 23rd Security Forces Squadron Operations Facility at Moody AFB. As Ranking Member of the Military Construction Appropriations Subcommittee, Sen. Ossoff previously secured $17.5 million for this project in the bipartisan military construction funding bill. 
  • Robins AFB: Authorizes $28 million for the construction of an Air Traffic Control Tower at Robins AFB. As Ranking Member of the Military Construction Appropriations Subcommittee, Sen. Ossoff previously secured $28 million for this project in the bipartisan military construction funding bill. 
  • Ft. Benning: Authorizes $22.375 million for the construction of the Dexter Elementary School at Ft. Benning. As Ranking Member of the Military Construction Appropriations Subcommittee, Sen. Ossoff previously secured $127.35 million for this project in the bipartisan military construction funding bill. 
  • Savannah Air National Guard Base: Authorizes $11.4 million for the construction of a C-130J Corrosion Control Facility; $27 million for the construction of a Dining Hall and Services Training Facility; and $3.8 million in planning and design funds for a Troop Camp at Savannah Air National Guard Base.  
  • Dobbins ARB: Authorizes $3.2M in planning and design funds for an Entry Control Facility at Dobbins ARB. As Ranking Member of the Military Construction Appropriations Subcommittee, Sen. Ossoff previously secured $3.2 million for this project in the bipartisan military construction funding bill. 
  • Gillem Enclave: Authorizes $45 million for the construction of an Evidence Storage Building at Gillem Enclave. As Ranking Member of the Military Construction Appropriations Subcommittee, Sen. Ossoff previously secured $166 million in funding for this project in the bipartisan military construction funding bill.
