Sen. Ossoff Announces Federal Grant Funding Available to Strengthen Fire Safety

Atlanta, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff announced Federal grant funding is available to help strengthen Georgia’s fire departments.

The Federal Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program offers assistance to fire departments, emergency medical service (EMS) organizations, and State Fire Training Academies (SFTAs) to upgrade equipment, upgrade or purchase new vehicles, train firefighters and more.

“Firefighters across Georgia put their lives on the line to keep families safe,” Sen. Ossoff said.  “I encourage Georgia communities and local fire departments to contact me and my office with any questions about this grant opportunity.”

The Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) opportunity is open now through Friday, March 8, at 5 p.m. ET. Eligible entities can apply for the Federal grant funding and learn more here.

Since taking office, Sen. Ossoff has delivered dozens of Assistance to Firefighters Grants to cities, counties, and agencies across the state— including Columbus and West Point; Augusta and Twin CityMetro Atlanta and North Georgia, Middle GeorgiaSouthwest Georgia, and Coastal Georgia.
