Sen. Ossoff Expanding Resources for North Georgia Families Experiencing Homelessness

Gainesville, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering resources to help North Georgia families in need.

Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to help the Salvation Army of Gainesville renovate its facility in Gainesville. With the funding, the Salvation Army of Gainesville plans to renovate its homeless shelter, upgrade the kitchen and dining areas, and renovate the gym and childcare center facilities.

Sen. Ossoff is delivering $1,800,000 for the project through bipartisan government funding legislation that became law on February 3.

“I’ve secured new resources with bipartisan support to help families in North Georgia rebuild their lives. I’ll continue working to help Georgians get the support and resources they need,” Sen. Ossoff said.

“We are deeply grateful to Senator Jon Ossoff for his leadership and commitment to securing this vital investment in our community,” said Majors Aaron and Rebekah Abram, Corps Officers for The Salvation Army of Gainesville. “This $1.8 million federal appropriation will strengthen our Homeless Resource Center, enhance safety and accessibility, and expand our capacity to serve vulnerable individuals and families throughout Northeast Georgia. We also appreciate the bipartisan support he garnered that helped bring this funding across the finish line.”
