Sen. Ossoff Upgrading Drinking Water Infrastructure in Lee County

Leesburg, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering resources to upgrade Lee County’s drinking water infrastructure.

Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to upgrade Lee County’s drinking water infrastructure. With the Federal funding, Lee County plans to install new technology to improve drinking water quality for their residents. This upgrade will also allow Lee County to have a centralized source of drinking water rather than relying on several small, private wells.

Working alongside Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02), Sen. Ossoff is delivering $1,092,000 for the project through bipartisan government funding legislation that became law on January 23.

“Every town in Georgia deserves safe, effective water infrastructure,” said Sen. Ossoff. “That’s why I bought Republicans and Democrats together to upgrade drinking water infrastructure in Lee County.”

“On behalf of the Lee County Board of Commissioners, I would like to thank Senator Ossoff for assistance obtaining $1,092,000 to enhance the Lee County Water Supply System. This funding will be utilized to construct a 1.0 million gallon per day groundwater production well and treatment facility that will provide safe drinking water for the citizens of Lee County. I appreciate the support and all the hard work to get this funding approved,” said Lee County Manager Scott Addison.
