WATCH: Sen. Ossoff Working to Lower Prescription Drug Prices

Senate Judiciary Committee today passed four Ossoff-backed bills aimed at helping consumers afford prescriptions

Washington, D.C. –– Today the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee passed four Ossoff-backed bills out of committee to lower the costs of prescription drugs.

The bills would lower prescription drug costs for consumers, allow generic versions of popular prescription drugs to get to market faster, and prevent major pharmaceutical companies from monopolizing the prescription drug supply chain.

The bills are now expected to head to the floor for a full vote.

“It’s refreshing to see Democrats and Republicans coming together to challenge price gouging and anti-competitive practices and other abusive practices by drug companies and making prescriptions more affordable for our constituents in Georgia, in every part of the state,” Sen. Ossoff said in the hearing. “Constantly, Georgians are out of pocket thousands of dollars per month for prescriptions that are desperately needed to treat illness, to prevent illness. The abuse of American consumers by pharmaceutical companies needs to end. I’m grateful again to all of those who have led this effort in the committee today.”
