Sens. Ossoff, Rev. Warnock Announce Over $2.2 Million to Reduce Youth Homelessness

Washington, D.C. –– Today Georgia U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock announced more than $2.2 million to help curb youth homelessness in Atlanta.

The funding was awarded to the Atlanta Continuum of Care/Partners for HOME, partner organizations that work together to make homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring in the city of Atlanta.

The funding comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program, an initiative designed to support and help communities across the United States implement programs to help prevent and end youth homelessness.

“These Federal resources will help young people experiencing homelessness in Georgia to rebuild their lives. I’ll continue working alongside Senator Reverend Warnock to help Georgians who lack housing,” said Sen. Ossoff.

“Our children, and every person, deserve to live in dignity with a roof over their head and a safe environment to call home,”said Sen. Reverend Warnock.“I am proud these Federal dollars are coming to Georgia to help curb youth homelessness. I will continue working with Senator Ossoff to strengthen Federal housing investments like these that will help Georgia’s youth succeed in school and life, and help keep all Georgians housed as we navigate the challenges of this pandemic together.”
