Sen. Ossoff delivers $250 million to boost high-speed internet for families & businesses across the state
Sen. Ossoff has championed historic investments to expand broadband infrastructure
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering a historic expansion of high-speed internet for Georgia families and businesses.
Sen. Ossoff secured $250 million through the American Rescue Plan to expand high-quality internet access to families, small businesses, farms, and schools across Georgia.
“This is a historic day for Georgia’s economy. I have secured a quarter of a billion dollars to expand high-speed internet access for businesses, households, schools, and farms in every corner of our state,” Sen. Ossoff said.
Broadband providers in the following counties will be eligible to apply for the new grant program:
- Northwest Georgia: Bartow, Carroll, Floyd, Gordon, Haralson
- Northeast Georgia: Banks, Jackson, Madison, Oglethorpe
- Central Georgia: Hancock, Johnson, Twiggs, Wheeler, Wilcox, Wilkinson
- East Georgia: Burke, Glascock, Jefferson
- Southwest Georgia: Calhoun, Clay, Clinch, Coffee, Decatur, Echols, Grady, Miller, Mitchell, Schley, Seminole, Thomas, Randolph, Webster, Worth
Earlier this year, Sen. Ossoff secured upgrades for broadband connectivity across Central Georgia and North Georgia.
Through the bipartisan infrastructure law, Sen. Ossoff also championed the expansion of the Affordable Connectivity Program, which has helped more than 350,000 low-income Georgians afford internet service.
