Sen. Ossoff Expanding Pre-School Opportunities for Children Across Northwest Georgia

Cartersville, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering new resources to strengthen early childhood education across Northwest Georgia.

Sen. Ossoff is delivering new resources to the Tallatoona Community Action Partnership, Inc.’s Head Start Program to help families in Northwest Georgia access early childhood education and developmental programs and give kids the opportunities to learn and grow.

Sen. Ossoff secured new resources with bipartisan support in Congress to help Tallatoona CAP, Inc. provide comprehensive services to children to enhance their cognitive, social, and emotional development.

“I am announcing these resources for early childhood education at Tallatoona Community Action Partnership, Inc. because every child in Georgia deserves a safe, healthy, and happy preschool education,” Sen. Ossoff said.

Head Start programs support children’s growth from birth to age 5 through services that support early learning and development, health, and family well-being. Head Start staff actively engage parents, recognizing family participation throughout the program as key to strong child outcomes.

The Tallatoona Community Action Partnership, Inc. is a private nonprofit with the mission to help low-income individuals and families acquire useful skills and knowledge that lead to more and greater opportunities to achieve economic self-sufficiency.

Tallatoona currently has Head Start programs in Cartersville, Rome, Calhoun, Buchanan, Dallas, Cedartown, and Rockmart.

Sen. Ossoff secured the $1.8 million for Tallatoona’s Head Start programs through last year’s government funding package, which will be delivered as a grant via the Head Start Projects program.

The national Head Start program currently supports nearly one million children under the age of five on their early learning and development. As of 2023, the Head Start program has benefitted 18,715 children in the state of Georgia.
