Macon, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering new resources to help those experiencing homelessness.
Today, Sen. Ossoff announced he is delivering Federal funding for United Way of Central Georgia’s Hello House, which will help them purchase an HVAC system to keep the shelter cool in the hot summer months and buy a new 12-passanger van to transport individuals experiencing homelessness from the shelter into Macon for access to other services.
Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to deliver $234,000 for the project through this year’s bipartisan government funding package, working alongside Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock.
“I’ve secured new resources with bipartisan support to help people experiencing homelessness in Middle Georgia rebuild their lives. I’ll continue working to help Georgians who lack housing get the support and resources they need,” Sen. Ossoff said. “I thank United Way of Central Georgia President & CEO George McCanless and the whole team for bringing this proposal to my office and for their leadership in the community.”
