Sen. Ossoff Upgrading Water Infrastructure in Millen

Millen, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering resources to upgrade water infrastructure in Millen.

Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to help the City of Millen install and connect an elevated water tank to the City’s water system.

According to local leaders, the elevated water tank will help connect the city’s water system to a new industrial development park, supporting economic development in Jenkins County.

The current well was built in the 1930s and, according to city officials, needs to be replaced.

Sen. Ossoff is delivering $1,500,000 for the project through bipartisan government funding legislation that became law on January 23.

“Bringing Republicans and Democrats together, I’m delivering new resources to upgrade water infrastructure for families in Millen,” Sen. Ossoff said. “I will continue working to secure upgrades for Georgia’s infrastructure to keep communities safe and upgrade quality of life.”

“We are grateful to Senator Ossoff for securing this congressional direct spending funding. The new industrial water tank is a critical infrastructure upgrade that will enhance our ability to serve industrial customers, support job creation, and position our community for long-term growth,” said Mayor King Rocker.
