Ossoff is introducing the&nbsp;<em>Industrial Energy-Efficient Technology Act<\/em>&nbsp;to help increase industrial manufacturing competitiveness, reduce energy costs, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and create good-paying jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy legislation will strengthen collaboration between government and industry to accelerate private sector energy efficiency and emissions reduction efforts,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bill would help facilities improve operations and install innovative energy-efficient technology that reduces carbon emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It would also fund a new program at the state level that helps facilities implement other energy efficient practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rep. Paul Tonko (NY-20), who has led efforts in the House to boost domestic manufacturing competitiveness, introduced companion legislation included in Sen. Ossoff\u2019s bill in the U.S. House of Representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe industrial sector accounts for a quarter of our greenhouse gas emissions, and it\u2019s critical that we invest in helping it decarbonize,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Steven Nadel, Executive Director of the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE)<\/strong>. \u201cSenator Ossoff\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Industrial Energy-Efficient Technology Act<\/em>&nbsp;would invest in advanced industrial process technologies and help industrial facilities better manage energy to reduce costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
