Washington, D.C.<\/strong> \u2014 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working across the aisle to cut red tape that makes it harder for Georgia farmers to transport products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today Sens. Ossoff (D-GA) and Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-KS) introduced the bipartisan Covered Farm Vehicle Modernization Act of 2021,<\/em> which would cut red tape and make it easier for Georgia farmers to use personal trucks and vehicles to transport goods and products across state lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis legislation will make it easier for our hard-working family farmers to transport their products and get them to market,\u201d Sen. Ossoff said<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAmerica\u2019s farmers and ranchers have some of the most difficult jobs in the world, and the last thing they need is more government red tape hindering their day-to-day operations,\u201d said Sen. Marshall<\/strong>. \u201cThis bipartisan legislation removes out of date regulations to better reflect modern day farm vehicles, and ultimately allows folks to legally pull a gooseneck trailer with their pickup truck without jumping through hoops to obtain a for-hire commercial driving license.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Ossoff continues to advocate for Georgia farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, Sen. Ossoff secured<\/a> a commitment from U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to help Georgia farmers export more crops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Ossoff also secured<\/a> a commitment from a top Biden Administration nominee to work with him and Georgia pecan suppliers to export more of their products worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
