Wyden<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Washington, D.C.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff successfully negotiated inclusion of his landmark clean energy legislation in the upcoming Congressional budget measure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff introduced the transformative&nbsp;<em>Solar Energy Manufacturing for America Act&nbsp;<\/em>this summer as a part of his continued effort to make Georgia the national leader in clean energy technology and swiftly transition to clean energy sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/GAI21A72.pdf\">legislation<\/a>&nbsp;will create&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrel.gov\/docs\/fy21osti\/79758.pdf\">tens of thousands<\/a>&nbsp;of good-paying jobs in Georgia and nationwide, transition our country to clean energy, help meet President Biden\u2019s ambitious goal of having solar energy account for 40% of U.S. energy by 2035, and boost American energy independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bill will provide tax credits for American manufacturers at every stage of the solar manufacturing supply chain, from production of polysilicon to solar cells, trackers and inverters, and fully assembled solar modules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a visit to Georgia last month, U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/energy-sec-granholm-sen-ossoffs-solar-legislation-is-a-game-changer\/\">praised the bill<\/a>, calling it a \u201cgame changer\u201d and commended Sen. Ossoff for his leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSen. Ossoff\u2019s great leadership in putting forward a tax credit for solar energy manufacturing in America \u2013\u2013 that is second to none. [His<em>Solar Energy Manufacturing for America Act<\/em>] is the game changer to be able to build out these supply chains in this whole solar industry in America,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sec. Granholm said<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR), who chairs the powerful Senate Finance Committee with jurisdiction over clean energy tax legislation, also&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/senate-finance-chair-wyden-we-will-go-to-the-mat-for-sen-ossoffs-solar-energy-legislation\/\">strongly endorsed<\/a>&nbsp;inclusion of Sen.
