Ossoff urged the Department to dedicate $9.3 million to help upgrade hospital infrastructure and reopen the facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cReopening this hospital will have ripple effects far beyond the immediate counties of service,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff wrote.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cI am pleased to lend my full support to this vital project addressing urgent issues facing rural communities in Georgia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month, Sen.&nbsp;Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-fighting-to-reopen-hospital-in-cuthbert-georgia\/\">urged<\/a>&nbsp;Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra and Sec. Vilsack to make their agencies\u2019 \u201ccomplete support\u201d available to help reopen the hospital and to work personally with him, Cuthbert Mayor Steve Whatley, and community leaders to get it done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe entire city of Cuthbert thanks Senator Ossoff for his continued support and partnership in our efforts to reopen our hospital,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Cuthbert Mayor Whatley said.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cWhen Senator Ossoff came to Cuthbert last year, he pledged to help us reopen the hospital, and he and his team are working with us around the clock to get it done.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the closure of Southwest Georgia Regional Medical Center, before Sen.
