Ossoff is pushing to pass legislation to fix a flawed system that prevents many combat-disabled veterans from receiving the full benefits they earned in service to the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Major Richard Star Act<\/em>&nbsp;is expected to benefit 42,000 military retirees whose careers came to an end due to the injuries they sustained serving in combat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy colleagues and I are sponsoring this legislation to provide more financial support for combat-disabled veterans in Georgia and nationwide,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a 2019 Department of Defense&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/media.defense.gov\/2020\/Aug\/12\/2002475697\/-1\/-1\/0\/MRS_STATRPT_2019_FINAL.PDF\">report<\/a>, there were 2,155 Georgia veterans who retired due to disability and suffered combat-related injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues to advocate for Georgia veterans and those across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month, Sen.
