Ossoff Working to Help Homeowners Lower Electric Costs, Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Report finds 85 percent of households could save money on energy bills with newer appliances<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Washington, D.C.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013\u2013 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save Georgians money on their electricity bills by making it more affordable for homeowners to install electric and energy-efficient home appliances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a letter addressed to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Committee on Energy and Natural Resources Chair Joe Manchin, Sen. Ossoff and colleagues urged inclusion of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/116\/bills\/s4052\/BILLS-116s4052is.pdf\"><em>HOPE for HOMES Act<\/em><\/a>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/2021.08.24-ZEHA.pdf\"><em>Zero-Emission Homes Act<\/em><\/a>&nbsp;in the upcoming budget reconciliation bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both pieces of legislation would make electric and energy-efficient home appliances more affordable for homeowners and accelerate the transition to clean energy sources nationwide \u2014 which would reduce greenhouse gas emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe write in strong support of our merged policies that will lower American households\u2019 energy burden in every zip code, create millions of well-paying local jobs, and improve indoor air quality,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen.
