Funding will support 41st Rescue Squadron’s new helicopter fleet<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to Sens. Warnock and Ossoff\u2019s push, funding authorization secured ahead of schedule<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington, D.C.<\/strong> \u2013 U.S. Senators Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff have secured inclusion of a $12.5 million authorization in the upcoming National Defense Authorization Act<\/em> for construction of new helicopter parking aprons at Georgia\u2019s Moody Air Force Base to support the Air Force\u2019s 41st Rescue Squadron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sens. Rev. Warnock and Ossoff pushed to secure the funding ahead of schedule to support the 41st Squadron’s move to the new HH-60W \u201cPave Hawk\u201d combat rescue helicopter, which will support the Rescue Squadron\u2019s missions in providing combat and peacetime search and rescue capabilities to safeguard and advance U.S. national security interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the NDAA is passed, the funding authorization will provide an adequately-sized, properly configured parking apron for the new helicopter fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSen. Rev. Warnock and I will continue delivering resources to upgrade key military installations in Georgia so our airmen, sailors, soldiers, and Marines have the tools they need to defend our nation,\u201d Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am proud we were able to secure the appropriation of this critical funding, and I am glad that it will also be authorized this year. Moody Air Force Base is a unique and nationally important military installation and ensuring the future of the HH-60Ws and the 41st Rescue Squadron is a Georgia priority. Georgia remains a crucial part of our nation\u2019s defense infrastructure, and I will continue to support our military installations and servicemembers to ensure they have the necessary tools to lead the way for our state and nation,\u201d said Sen. Reverend Warnock.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sens. Warnock and Ossoff also recently secured a $100 million authorization<\/a> for the construction of a new permanent party barracks facility at Georgia\u2019s Ft. Stewart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
