Ossoff and Sec. Granholm inspected the SeaPoint Industrial Terminal Complex in Savannah, a manufacturing and logistics hub that includes a 1-megawatt solar installation, and then hosted a roundtable with Savannah Mayor Van Johnson and leading solar energy officials on the urgent need to invest in solar energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A leading voice in the push for clean energy, Sen. Ossoff is working in the U.S. Senate to pass his&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-introduces-legislation-to-rapidly-boost-american-solar-manufacturing\/\"><em>Solar Energy Manufacturing for America Act<\/em><\/a>, which willsupercharge solar production in the United States, create good-paying jobs in Georgia and nationwide, and help meet President Biden\u2019s ambitious goal of having solar energy account for 40% of U.S. energy by 2035.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff has also introduced&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-introduces-bill-to-make-rooftop-solar-more-affordable-for-homeowners-and-businesses-boost-solar-roof-installations-nationwide\/\">legislation<\/a>&nbsp;to make rooftop solar panel installations and cutting-edge solar integrated roofing systems more affordable for homeowners and businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGeorgia has it all. Georgia is poised to become the national leader in clean energy. That&#8217;s why I&#8217;ve introduced the solar manufacturing and solar roof legislation so that we create those solar manufacturing jobs in America and make it more affordable for Georgia families to put solar panels on their roofs,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Sen. Ossoff\u2019s innovative solar initiatives as his&nbsp;<em>Solar Energy Manufacturing for America Act&nbsp;<\/em>continues to build momentum in Congress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last week, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR), who chairs the powerful Senate Finance Committee with jurisdiction over clean energy tax legislation,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/senate-finance-chair-wyden-we-will-go-to-the-mat-for-sen-ossoffs-solar-energy-legislation\/\">strongly endorsed<\/a>&nbsp;inclusion of Sen. Ossoff\u2019s solar legislation in the upcoming reconciliation bill, calling it a \u201cprerequisite\u201d for dealing with climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff and Sec.
