Ossoff urged the Committee to recommend approval of a stamp highlighting the late Congressman\u2019s legacy as a leader and champion for civil and human rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCongressman Lewis was an American hero, civil rights icon, and revered citizen of Georgia, fully deserving of this honor,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff wrote.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cHis courage serves as an extraordinary example of civic leadership, and continues to inspire young Americans to serve their communities and build a better world. I am honored to represent Congressman Lewis\u2019 home state of Georgia in the United States Senate and to lead the Senate effort to honor him with a commemorative stamp. I respectfully urge the Citizens\u2019 Stamp Advisory Committee to recommend to the Postmaster General approval for its issuance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As his first piece of legislation, Sen.
