Ossoff\u2019s Voting Rights Bills Included in New Freedom to Vote Act"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Washington, D.C. \u2013\u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;Several of Georgia U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff\u2019s voting rights bills have been included in major new voting rights legislation introduced in the Senate today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff\u2019s landmark&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/senate-bill\/2615?s=6&amp;r=4\"><em>Right to Vote Act<\/em><\/a>, which would create a first-ever affirmative federal voting rights guarantee for all U.S. citizens, and his&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/senate-bill\/1539?s=6&amp;r=19\"><em>Voters\u2019 Access to Water Act<\/em><\/a>, which would protect voters\u2019 access to water when they are made to wait in line outside polling places, are both included in the new&nbsp;<em>Freedom to Vote Act<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI introduced the&nbsp;<em>Right to Vote Act<\/em>&nbsp;to protect the sacred franchise for every American citizen. Too many Americans bled and died for voting rights to give up this fight. My legislation continues to build support and momentum in the Senate and I will keep pushing it toward the floor for a vote,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Sen. Ossoff.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>Freedom to Vote Act<\/em>&nbsp;also includes two additional measures sponsored by Sen. Ossoff: the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/senate-bill\/2626?s=4&amp;r=1\"><em>Protecting Election Administration from Interference Act<\/em><\/a>, which would&nbsp;expand protections for election administrators from threats and violence and protect against efforts to undermine legitimate election results, and the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/senate-bill\/2155?s=2&amp;r=1\"><em>Preventing Election Subversion Act of 2021<\/em><\/a>, which would institute new safeguards to protect state election administrators from partisan pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><br># # #<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Washington, D.C. \u2013\u2013&nbsp;Several of Georgia U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff\u2019s voting rights bills have been included in major new voting rights legislation introduced in the Senate today.
