Ossoff has championed historic investments in infrastructure and clean energy to rebuild the American economy, create good-paying jobs, and accelerate the transition to a renewable energy grid, pointing to a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-on-infrastructure-clean-energy-investment-it-is-our-generational-obligation\/\">generational<\/a>&nbsp;obligation and opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The historic bipartisan legislation included multiple bills authored by Sen. Ossoff and initiatives he led personally, including to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbs46.com\/news\/sen-ossoff-measure-to-remove-lead-drinking-water-pipes-from-schools-passes-the-senate\/article_e4138e54-a989-11eb-9d97-3350a2cb8e77.html?block_id=1056862\">replace lead pipes<\/a>&nbsp;in drinking water systems, to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/fox8.com\/news\/washington-dc-bureau\/lawmakers-confident-bipartisan-infrastructure-package-will-pass-senate-soon\/\">upgrade public schools<\/a>facilities, to boost&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-introduces-new-legislation-to-boost-economic-and-transportation-development-in-underserved-parts-of-georgia-u-s\/\">federal dollars<\/a>&nbsp;for transit planning in underserved and rural areas, to invest in flood and storm resilience for coastal Georgia, to secure more funding for public transportation in Metro Atlanta and statewide,&nbsp;and to support water recycling, stormwater reuse, and resiliency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bill includes&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2021\/08\/03\/fact-sheet-top-10-programs-in-the-bipartisan-infrastructure-investment-and-jobs-act-that-you-may-not-have-heard-about\/\">$12 billion<\/a>&nbsp;for flood mitigation and infrastructure investments to enhance coastal resilience, a key priority to safeguard and help protect Georgia\u2019s coast from stronger tropical storms and hurricanes. Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenOssoff\/status\/1417975494629277711\">urged his colleagues<\/a>&nbsp;last month to include this vital funding in the bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s historic bipartisan vote to upgrade our infrastructure, promote clean energy, and create good-paying jobs will benefit Georgians for generations to come,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen.
