Ossoff-Backed Legislation to Secure Additional Resources for Violent Crime Victims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Legislation will provide additional funding for programs that support victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, and other crimes<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Washington, D.C.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013\u2013 Today the U.S. Senate voted unanimously to pass bipartisan legislation U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff co-sponsored to provide more funding for services and programs to help victims of violent crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>VOCA Fix to Sustain the Crime Victims Fund Act of&nbsp;2021<\/em>&nbsp;will increase&nbsp;funds available for thousands of victim service providers nationwide, including programs that serve victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking, and child abuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also funds victims compensation, including paying medical bills and funeral costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m proud we came together to pass this critical legislation that will ensure victims of violent crime in Georgia and nationwide can access the resources, support, and treatment they deserve,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Sen.
