The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced over $307 million in grants and federal loans to modernize rural drinking water systems and improve local wastewater management, including over $30 million for two projects in Forsyth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The federal funding&nbsp;headed to Forsyth, GA will upgrade&nbsp;the&nbsp;city\u2019s&nbsp;existing water treatment facility and raw water intake facilities that have exceeded functional capacity over time&nbsp;from use. The funding will also help to address rising water demand by modernizing the city\u2019s water management systems, and supporting the health and&nbsp;well-being of local residents. Together, these projects are expected to benefit an estimated 3,890 Georgians&nbsp;by improving their access to clean water and strengthening the local wastewater infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u201cInvesting in infrastructure, especially in Georgia\u2019s rural communities, improves quality of life,\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;said Senator Reverend Warnock.&nbsp;<strong><em>\u201cI&nbsp;am&nbsp;proud to see these federal investments flow to&nbsp;Forsyth to help them address longstanding water quality issues. I\u2019m going to keep fighting&nbsp;alongside my colleagues to make sure the federal government is doing its part for hardworking families in Monroe County and those across rural Georgia.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u201cSen.
