Ossoff and Reverend Warnock Announce Major Federal Investment in Housing Vouchers for Vulnerable Families, Individuals Across Georgia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Georgia to receive more than $18 million in emergency housing vouchers from HUD<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Critical funding was secured in the American Rescue Plan, championed by Warnock and Ossoff<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>The Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) provides local Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) the funding to assist families and individuals in unstable housing situations<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Washington, D.C<\/strong>. \u2013\u00a0Today,\u00a0Georgia U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock, both members of the Senate committee overseeing housing policy,\u00a0announced Georgia would receive more than $18 million in emergency housing vouchers from\u00a0the\u00a0U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development\u00a0(HUD)\u00a0to help secure housing for approximately 1,300 home-insecure\u00a0families\u00a0and individuals.\u00a0This funding will provide safe housing to Georgians across the state who are at risk of or\u00a0experiencing\u00a0homelessness and those who are living in\u00a0an unsafe or abusive\u00a0living environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funding is part of HUD\u2019s national Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) program,\u00a0a program included in the\u00a0<em>American Rescue Plan<\/em>. The program will provide local Public Housing Authorities (PHAs)\u00a0with\u00a0funding to assist\u00a0families and individuals who are homeless; at risk of homelessness; fleeing, or attempting to flee, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking; or were recently homeless or have a high risk of housing instability.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cSenator Reverend Warnock and I have secured this funding to reduce homelessness and domestic violence in Georgia.
