Warnock and Ossoff<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>The\u00a0<\/em>Housing Choice Voucher Program<em>will assist individuals\u00a0with\u00a0low-income, as well as families navigating\u00a0homelessness and housing insecurity<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Washington, D.C<\/strong>. \u2014 Today, U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff\u00a0(D-GA) and Reverend Warnock\u00a0(D-GA)\u00a0announced over $11 million in funding to housing authority units across Georgia to combat homelessness,\u00a0housing instability,\u00a0unsafe\u00a0living conditions, and human trafficking across the state. Provided through the Department of Housing and Urban Development\u2019s\u00a0<em>Housing Choice Voucher Program<\/em>, the\u00a0funding will be disbursed to local public housing agencies to help\u00a0ensure\u00a0working people have access to\u00a0safe living conditions\u00a0in rural, urban and suburban parts of the state. The housing vouchers will assist Georgians\u00a0with\u00a0low-incomes and Georgians who are\u00a0elderly, disabled,\u00a0and\/or homeless\u00a0by helping them\u00a0afford safe and\u00a0secure\u00a0housing,\u00a0and recover from the economic and social challenges heightened by the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe COVID-19 pandemic intensified the challenges that too many Georgians face every day, like finding and maintaining safe, affordable housing.
