Ossoff and Warnock Announce Over $140M to Support Affordable Housing, Strengthen Housing Options for Low-Income Families Across Georgia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Georgia to receive more than&nbsp;$140&nbsp;million in&nbsp;HOME Investment Partnerships Program&nbsp;grants from HUD<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Critical affordable housing funding secured in American Rescue Plan, championed by Ossoff<\/em> and <em>Warnock<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>The HOME Investments Partnerships program expands the supply of affordable housing to low-income families by providing grants to fund housing programs that meet local needs and priorities<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Washington, D.C<\/strong>. \u2014 Today, Georgia U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock announced&nbsp;Georgia would receive more than&nbsp;$140 million in&nbsp;federal grants&nbsp;to&nbsp;address affordable housing needs&nbsp;across the state. This funding is aimed at providing safe, affordable housing to&nbsp;Georgians who have struggled&nbsp;to keep a roof over their heads amid the&nbsp;economic consequences caused by the&nbsp;COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funding comes from&nbsp;the $5 billion HOME Investment Partnerships Program&nbsp;provision included&nbsp;in the American Rescue&nbsp;Plan,&nbsp;created to&nbsp;strengthen affordable&nbsp;housing&nbsp;options&nbsp;and&nbsp;support&nbsp;services for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. These grants can be used&nbsp;to help Georgians with low-incomes&nbsp;rehabilitate owner-occupied housing, provide assistance to low-income&nbsp;homebuyers, construct&nbsp;affordable&nbsp;rental housing, expand tenant-based rental assistance&nbsp;to help keep people housed, and&nbsp;provide additional support to&nbsp;those experiencing eviction and homelessness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSenator Rev. Warnock and I are proud to deliver this critical funding to help build and maintain more affordable housing and provide additional rental assistance to those struggling to pay the rent.
