Ossoff Working to Improve Public Transportation Across Georgia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Washington, D.C.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2014 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working with Republicans and Democrats to improve public transportation across Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff is cosponsoring the bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Streamline Transit Projects Act<\/em>, legislation to help reduce transit project delays by streamlining the environmental review process for projects that would have little to no environmental impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bill aims to more quickly deliver critical public transportation improvements and improve transit access and service for riders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bipartisan bill was first introduced by Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT) and Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMany Georgians depend on public transportation to get&nbsp;around their communities,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cThis bipartisan legislation&nbsp;will&nbsp;help&nbsp;expand&nbsp;transit programs across Georgia by cutting back on&nbsp;unnecessary&nbsp;and costly administrative&nbsp;delays.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues working to upgrade Georgia\u2019s infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-announces-bipartisan-infrastructure-law-funding-opportunity-for-transportation-projects-across-georgia\/\">announced<\/a>&nbsp;grant funding was available for key transportation projects through the bipartisan infrastructure law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also last year, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sens-ossoff-rev-warnock-delivering-federal-funding-to-help-eliminate-blocked-rail-crossings-across-georgia\/\">delivered<\/a>&nbsp;Federal resources through the Railroad Crossing Elimination Grant Program, created and funded through the bipartisan infrastructure law, to help eliminate blocked railroad crossings across Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In March 2024, Sens. Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sens-ossoff-rev-warnock-delivering-122-million-through-bipartisan-infrastructure-law-to-upgrade-georgias-public-transit-infrastructure\/\">announced the State of Georgia will receive $122,457,266 in Federal resources<\/a>&nbsp;for transit infrastructure upgrades across the state in partial Fiscal Year 2024 funding, authorized by the bipartisan infrastructure law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In March 2024, Sens.
