{"id":29920,"date":"2025-12-12T13:00:59","date_gmt":"2025-12-12T18:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/?post_type=press-releases&#038;p=29920"},"modified":"2026-05-20T13:03:47","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T17:03:47","slug":"georgians-speak-out-on-impact-of-aca-tax-credits-possible-loss-of-health-coverage","status":"publish","type":"press-releases","link":"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/georgians-speak-out-on-impact-of-aca-tax-credits-possible-loss-of-health-coverage\/","title":{"rendered":"Georgians Speak Out on Impact of ACA Tax Credits, Possible Loss of Health Coverage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Washington, D.C.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2014 Yesterday, Senate Republicans blocked legislation to extend ACA tax credits just weeks before they expire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the ACA enhanced premium tax credits expire at the end of the year, according to KFF,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/news\/2025\/10\/massive-aca-price-hikes-revealed-as-georgia-access-window-shopping-opens-early\/\">1.4 million Georgians<\/a>could see their premiums double and 460,000 Georgians could lose health insurance altogether because they cannot afford the price increases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For months, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff has been fighting to extend the ACA credits, including&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=33NDgbruTHA\">offering an amendment<\/a>&nbsp;to the Trump budget bill to extend the&nbsp;Affordable&nbsp;Care&nbsp;Act&nbsp;tax credits back in June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This week, Sen.
