Ossoff is cosponsoring the&nbsp;<em>Sarah Debbink Langenkamp Active Transportation&nbsp;Safety&nbsp;Act<\/em>&nbsp;to help communities address dangerous gaps in sidewalks, bike lanes, and other active transportation networks.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bipartisan bill, led by&nbsp;Sens.&nbsp;Chris Van Hollen (D-MD)&nbsp;and Ron Johnson (R-WI),&nbsp;would allow states and localities to use Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) funds to complete pedestrian and cyclist safety projects. It would also&nbsp;help&nbsp;rural and underserved communities implement safety upgrades.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am working across the aisle&nbsp;to make our roadways safer&nbsp;for pedestrians,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cThis bipartisan legislation would&nbsp;help&nbsp;address gaps in pedestrian and cyclist safety.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Passing the Langenkamp Act means that more Georgians will get home safely at the end of their trip &#8212; Go Georgia couldn&#8217;t be more grateful for Senator Ossoff&#8217;s leadership to advance this life-or-death issue,&#8221;&nbsp;<strong>said John Devine, Executive Director of Go Georgia.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues working to&nbsp;protect Georgia&nbsp;families.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In January, Sens. Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.warnock.senate.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/warnock-ossoff-secure-over-54-million-in-federal-funding-to-reduce-car-accidents-in-georgia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">delivered<\/a>&nbsp;over $50 million through the Department of Transportation\u2019s (DOT) Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program to help strengthen road safety for bicyclists, pedestrians, and drivers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last&nbsp;January, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sens-ossoff-rev-warnock-announce-bipartisan-infrastructure-law-investments-to-upgrade-metro-atlanta-infrastructure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">delivered<\/a>&nbsp;$2.8 million in&nbsp;Federal resources through the U.S. Department of Transportation\u2019s Reconnecting Communities Pilot Program, created by the bipartisan infrastructure law, to help revitalize historically underserved areas and improve mobility and connectivity \u2013 helping families get to work, school, the doctor\u2019s office, and more.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2024, Sen. Ossoff, alongside Sen. Warnock,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/senators-ossoff-reverend-warnock-announce-over-37-million-in-bipartisan-infrastructure-law-funding-for-safer-streets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a>&nbsp;over $37 million in&nbsp;Federal funding&nbsp;for&nbsp;localities across Georgia to strengthen road safety for bicyclists, pedestrians, and drivers, as well as promote better connectivity among communities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2023, Sen.
