Ossoff is cosponsoring the&nbsp;<em>Stop Price Gouging in Grocery Stores Act of 2026&nbsp;<\/em>to stop big corporations from taking advantage of consumers by unfairly overcharging for groceries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bill, first introduced by Sen. Ben Ray Luj\u00e1n (D-NM), would prohibit the use of surveillance-based price setting practices, where corporations use a person\u2019s precise location, browser history, or surveillance to charge people different prices for the same goods and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGeorgia families are paying too much for groceries. This bill will crack down on corporate price gouging to lower costs for Georgia families,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues working to lower prices for Georgia families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In December, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-pushing-back-after-trump-admin-guts-resources-for-childcare-child-nutrition-programs-in-southwest-georgia\/\">urged U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Brooke Rollins to reinstate<\/a>&nbsp;Federal grant funding through the Southeast Crescent Regional Commission\u2019s Childcare Access and Nutrition Systems (CANS) Program to help reduce food insecurity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last April, Sen. Ossoff joined a group of Senators&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-sounds-alarm-on-congressional-republicans-plan-to-cut-food-assistance-for-georgians\/\">calling out<\/a>&nbsp;Congressional Republicans\u2019 budget proposal, which proposed cutting billions of dollars from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and have devastating consequences for Georgia veterans, seniors, children, and farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last February, Sen. Ossoff and Congresswoman Lucy McBath (D-GA-06), alongside other members of Georgia\u2019s Congressional Delegation,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-again-urges-gov-kemp-to-accept-federal-funds-for-school-childrens-summer-meals\/\">urged Georgia Governor Brian Kemp to reverse course and apply for the summer EBT program<\/a>&nbsp;after Governor Kemp refused tens of millions of dollars in Federal funding to help Georgia children afford lunch during the summer months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2024, Sen.
