Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to expand health care services for families in metro Atlanta and across North Georgia, including&nbsp;expanding health care transportation services in Rome, delivering a new&nbsp;Cardiac CT Scanner for a rural hospital in Union County, and delivering new&nbsp;equipment in Calhoun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no worse nightmare for any family than having a loved one who\u2019s sick, but&nbsp;who&nbsp;cannot get the health care they need,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cThat\u2019s why I brought Republicans and Democrats together to strengthen health care services for Georgia families.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff is delivering funding for the projects through bipartisan government funding legislation that became law on February 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Please find a summary of projects for which Sen. Ossoff is delivering funding below<\/u><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>BLAIRSVILLE: Union County Hospital Authority ($2,000,000):&nbsp;<\/strong>Union County Hospital Authority will use the Federal funding to&nbsp;purchase&nbsp;a Cardiac PET\/CT Scanner, which will improve care for patients with chest pain as well as patients who have suffered from a heart attack or stroke.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>ROME:&nbsp;AdventHealth Redmond&nbsp;($934,000)<\/strong>:&nbsp;The Federal funding will help AdventHealth Redmond launch the Northwest Georgia Rural Initiative for Transportation (NW-GRIT), which aims to provide non-emergency transport to improve access to community and mental health resources for underserved residents.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>ATLANTA: Georgia State University ($1,350,000)<\/strong>:&nbsp;GSU\u2019s College of Nursing and Health Professions will use the Federal funds to&nbsp;purchase&nbsp;a mobile health clinic, expanding access and addressing health needs in underserved communities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>MARIETTA: Wellstar Health ($500,000)<\/strong>:&nbsp;Wellstar Health will use the Federal funding to&nbsp;purchase&nbsp;a mammography unit for its&nbsp;Maternal Mobile Health Clinic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>RIVERDALE: Southern Regional Medical Center ($1,222,000)<\/strong>: With the Federal funding, Southern Regional Medical Center plans to&nbsp;establish&nbsp;a Sickle Cell Wellness Treatment Center, which will focus on wellness, prevention of complications, and proactive care.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>CALHOUN: The Healing Hands Clinic of Gordon County ($190,000):\u00a0<\/strong>The Healing Hands Clinic of Gordon County is a nonprofit, free medical clinic for residents of Gordon County. The Clinic will use the Federal funding to\u00a0acquire\u00a0much-needed medical and office equipment and make upgrades to its new facility, including\u00a0additional\u00a0treatment rooms and roof repairs.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThank you, Senator Ossoff, and your incredible team, for your steadfast support of AdventHealth and the citizens of Northwest Georgia. We are deeply appreciative of the $934,000 in federal funding for the Northwest Georgia Rural Initiative for Transportation (NW-GRIT).
