Ossoff Backs Bipartisan Bill to Support Disabled Veterans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Washington, D.C.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2014 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is backing a bipartisan bill to help disabled veterans get the support they need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff recently cosponsored the&nbsp;<em>Service Dogs Assisting Veterans Act of 2025<\/em>&nbsp;to help connect veterans with service dogs who help veterans facing service-related disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bipartisan bill, first introduced by Sens. Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), would create a grant program to help non-profit organizations provide veterans with service dogs to assist with service-related disabilities. The grants, administered by the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), would go toward the cost of training and placing service dogs for eligible veterans.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur veterans have sacrificed so much for our nation,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u201cThis bipartisan legislation will help ensure disabled Georgia veterans get the care and support they need.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues working to support Georgia\u2019s servicemembers, veterans, and military families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-working-across-aisle-to-expand-access-to-affordable-housing-for-veterans\/\">cosponsored<\/a>&nbsp;the bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Housing Unhoused Disabled Veterans Act (HUDVA)<\/em>, first introduced by Sens. Alex Padilla (D-CA) and Dave McCormick (R-PA), to ensure that veterans can more fairly access affordable housing options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In December, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-working-to-strengthen-support-for-disabled-veterans-their-families\/\">cosponsored<\/a>&nbsp;the bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Helping Heroes Act<\/em>&nbsp;to expand supportive services for families of disabled veterans, including children taking on caregiving roles for their parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also in 2025, Sens.
