Washington, D.C.\u00a0<\/strong>\u2014 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working across the aisle to help Georgia kids with hearing loss get health care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Ossoff is cosponsoring Ally\u2019s Act<\/em>, bipartisan legislation first introduced by Sens. John Curtis (R-UT) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), which would help children with hearing loss get the care they need by requiring insurance providers to cover bone-anchored hearing systems and cochlear implants, as well as the surgery, maintenance, and upgrades associated with these devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo family should have to worry that insurance won\u2019t cover the medical care their child needs,\u201d Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong>\u201cThat\u2019s why I am working to ensure that children with hearing loss in Georgia can get the health care they need to thrive.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Ossoff continues working to expand access to health care for Georgia children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, the bipartisan Accelerating Kids\u2019 Access to Care Act<\/em>, cosponsored by Sen. Ossoff, was signed into law<\/a> as part of bipartisan government funding legislation to ensure kids covered by Medicaid in Georgia face fewer delays when receiving specialty care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2025, during a U.S Senate Appropriations hearing about the impact of cuts to medical research, Sen. Ossoff sounded the alarm<\/a> about the impacts of the Trump Administration\u2019s cancelation of medical research and its impacts on long-term health outcomes \u2013 including warning that the cancelations will cost children\u2019s lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also in 2025, Sen. Ossoff introduced<\/a> an amendment to protect children\u2019s and maternal health care through Medicaid that Senate Republicans blocked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2024, Sen. Ossoff delivered<\/a> over $1.7 million through the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act<\/em> to help hire and train more mental health counselors for students in Georgia schools and also delivered<\/a> $1,205,656 in Federal funding through the Children\u2019s Hospital Graduate Medical Education (CHGME) program to help Egleston Children\u2019s Hospital at Emory University train and retain more pediatric physicians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
