Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoffs-legislation-to-preserve-protect-chattahoochee-river-signed-into-law\/\">passed into law<\/a>&nbsp;his<em>&nbsp;Chattahoochee River Act<\/em>&nbsp;to help improve water&nbsp;treatment, protect essential public works, and restore ecosystems along the river,&nbsp;which are all vital to Georgia\u2019s drinking water supply, agricultural industry, power generation, and more.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first-of-its-kind law authorized the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to work on water projects up and down the Chattahoochee River throughout the state of Georgia.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now,&nbsp;Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to&nbsp;deliver $750,000&nbsp;through bipartisan government funding legislation that became law on January 23&nbsp;to begin the&nbsp;<em>Chattahoochee River Act<\/em>\u2019s implementation planning,&nbsp;which will&nbsp;identify&nbsp;projects for construction along the Chattahoochee River Basin.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the project,&nbsp;the nonprofit&nbsp;Trust for Public Land will work alongside the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers&nbsp;to begin&nbsp;identifying&nbsp;projects.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn 2022, I worked across the aisle to pass into law my&nbsp;<em>Chattahoochee River Act<\/em>, a first-of-its-kind law to improve water quality, protect essential public works, and restore ecosystems along the river.&nbsp;I\u2019m&nbsp;now delivering resources to begin planning for key water projects up and down the&nbsp;Chattahoochee&nbsp;River,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Chattahoochee River has long been Atlanta\u2019s lifeline, powering its growth and shaping the region\u2019s landscape and communities,\u201d\u00a0<strong>said George Dusenbery, Southern Region Vice President at Trust for Public Land.<\/strong> &#8220;Passage of the Chattahoochee River Act and the funding delivered by Sen.
