Ossoff Championing Bipartisan Bill to Improve Mental Health Care in Georgia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Washington, D.C.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2014 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is championing bipartisan legislation to help Georgians get mental health care.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff cosponsored the bipartisan<em>&nbsp;988 Lifeline Location Improvement Act of 2025<\/em>&nbsp;to help ensure Georgians experiencing a mental health crisis can get the care they need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bipartisan bill, originally introduced by Sens. John Barrasso (R-WY) and Ben Ray Luj\u00e1n (D-NM), aims to improve the 988 Suicide &amp; Crisis Lifeline with better geolocation services to help law enforcement better respond to emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;There are real and ongoing mental health concerns for people in Georgia and across the county, and it\u2019s an issue we must address,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Sen. Ossoff.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cI\u2019m working with Republicans and Democrats to strengthen mental health services for families.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues working to expand mental health care resources for Georgians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-strengthening-mental-health-counseling-for-georgia-students-2\/\">recently delivered<\/a>&nbsp;over $1.7 million in Federal resources through the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act to help hire licensed mental health providers that will better support students in the Sumter County School District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last March, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-introduces-bipartisan-bill-to-help-first-responders-suffering-from-ptsd\/\">helped introduce<\/a>&nbsp;the bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Fighting Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Act<\/em>&nbsp;to help first responders who are dealing with long-term mental health effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2024, Sens. Ossoff and Mike Braun (R-IN)&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoffs-bipartisan-bill-to-strengthen-servicemembers-access-to-mental-health-care-signed-into-law\/\">passed into law<\/a>&nbsp;the bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Military Mental Health Professionals Support Act<\/em>&nbsp;to help ensure servicemembers have access to the vital mental health care services they deserve by recruiting more mental health care providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also in 2024, Sen.
