Ossoff recently cosponsored the bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Fair Access in Residency (FAIR) Act&nbsp;<\/em>to help address the growing physician shortage in Georgia by making it easier for doctors to access Medicare-funded residency programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC10549423\/\">2023 study<\/a>, osteopathic graduates predominately enter primary care fields, which are severely understaffed across rural Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bipartisan bill, first introduced by Sens. Steve Daines (R-MT), Martin Heinrich (D-NM), and Angus King (I-ME), aims to help ensure that graduates of osteopathic programs in Georgia have a fairer chance at securing local residency positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFamilies in Georgia should never have to worry that there won\u2019t be enough doctors available to help in an emergency,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cThat\u2019s why I am working with Republicans and Democrats to strengthen our health care workforce in Georgia.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues working to strengthen health care for Georgia families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this year, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-working-across-the-aisle-to-reduce-georgias-health-care-worker-shortage\/\">cosponsored<\/a>&nbsp;the bipartisan&nbsp;<em>States Handling Access to Reciprocity for Employment (SHARE) Act of 2025<\/em>&nbsp;to simplify the existing multistate license application process that often hinders the hiring of health care professionals during critical national shortages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In November, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-championing-bipartisan-legislation-to-help-georgia-children-get-faster-medical-care\/\">cosponsored<\/a>&nbsp;the bipartisan<em>&nbsp;Accelerating Kids\u2019 Access to Care Act<\/em>&nbsp;to ensure kids covered by Medicaid in Georgia face fewer delays when receiving specialty care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In April, Sen.
