Washington, D.C. <\/strong>\u2014 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working with Republicans and Democrats to reduce Georgia\u2019s health care worker shortage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Ossoff recently cosponsored the bipartisan States Handling Access to Reciprocity for Employment (SHARE) Act of 2025<\/em> to help reduce Georgia\u2019s shortage of health care workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bipartisan bill, led by Sens. Peter Welch (D-VT) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), would simplify the existing multistate license application process that often hinders the hiring of health care professionals during critical national shortages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith the growing list of challenges Georgia\u2019s rural hospitals face, including staff shortages, this bipartisan legislation will allow more health care workers to work in hospitals by streamlining the complex process of securing a multistate license,\u201d Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Ossoff continues working to strengthen Georgia\u2019s health care system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In December, Sen. Ossoff cosponsored<\/a> the bipartisan Accelerating Kids\u2019 Access to <\/em>Care<\/em> Act<\/em> which would streamline the process for pediatric providers to enroll in another state\u2019s Medicaid program if they meet certain requirements so they can provide care to children with complex needs, regardless of where the child lives and where the care is received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In July, Sen. Ossoff cosponsored<\/a> the bipartisan Rural Hospital Cybersecurity Enhancement Act<\/em> to create new strategy and training resources to boost the number of cybersecurity and digital security professionals in rural hospitals across Georgia and nationwide. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In October 2024, Sen. Ossoff delivered<\/a> Federal funding to help upgrade health care services with state-of-the-art equipment for traditional and peritoneal dialysis at Tift Regional Health System, which serves 12 counties in South Georgia, and also delivered Federal funding to help build a new hospital in Ringgold<\/a> and to build a new emergency room in Berrien County<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
