Ossoff Continues Supporting Georgia\u2019s Rural Small Businesses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Washington, D.C.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2014 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is backing a bipartisan bill to support Georgia\u2019s rural small businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff is cosponsoring the bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Rural Small Business Resilience Act<\/em>, which would require the Small Business Administration (SBA) to improve disaster assistance access for rural small businesses by tailoring outreach, communication, and marketing efforts to rural communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This bipartisan bill was first introduced by Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Tim Sheehy (R-MT).&nbsp;<br><br>Following Hurricane Helene, businesses across Georgia faced extensive damages that cost Georgia\u2019s economy at least<a href=\"https:\/\/extension.uga.edu\/topic-areas\/timely-topics\/helene-report.html\">$5.5. billion in agricultural and timber losses<\/a>&nbsp;and left many rural small businesses suffering.<br><br>\u201cSmall businesses are the backbone of our economy and of rural communities across Georgia,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>said Sen. Ossoff.<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201cThis bipartisan bill will help ensure rural small business receive the specialized assistance necessary to quickly recover from natural disasters.\u201d<br><br>Sen. Ossoff continues working to support Georgia small businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month, Sens. Ossoff and Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) introduced the bipartisan\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsbtv.com\/news\/local\/atlanta\/ossoff-partners-with-hyde-smith-small-business-tax-cut-legislation\/FAH7W73ZB5FBLDE5WFWD77KR4E\/\"><em>Support Small Business Growth Act of 2025<\/em><\/a>\u00a0to cut income taxes for qualifying small businesses with up to 15 employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In May, Sen. Ossoff\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-working-across-the-aisle-to-support-georgia-small-businesses\/\">cosponsored<\/a>\u00a0the bipartisan\u00a0<em>Simplifying Subcontracting Act<\/em>\u00a0to support Georgia\u2019s small businesses by simplifying the process for small businesses to win Federal contracts.<br><br>In 2023, Sen. Ossoff\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-introduces-bipartisan-bill-to-support-small-businesses-owned-by-service-disabled-veterans\/\">passed into law<\/a>\u00a0his bipartisan\u00a0<em>Investing in VETS Act<\/em>\u00a0to help service-disabled veteran business owners compete for Federal government contracts, helping expand their business opportunities to new markets.<br><br>In December 2023, Sen.
