Ossoff Continues Working Across the Aisle to Support Victims of Human Trafficking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Washington, D.C.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2014 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working across the aisle to support youth victims of human trafficking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff recently cosponsored the bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Runaway and Homeless Youth and Trafficking Prevention Act&nbsp;<\/em>to better support victims of human trafficking. The bipartisan bill would provide more funding to the Runaway and Homeless Youth Act (RHYA) grant program that supports local centers that support runaway and homeless youth and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The legislation, led by Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Dick Durbin (D-IL), would also expand the grant program to provide additional services, including safe shelter, counseling, and trauma-informed services for victims of trafficking.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHuman trafficking in Georgia and nationwide is a crisis, especially among children. This bipartisan bill would help young people going through these traumas rebuild their lives. I will continue working to help victims get the support and resources they need,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen Ossoff said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues working to protect youth from abuse and human trafficking.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last week, following reports that the Trump Administration is aggressively&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2025\/sep\/17\/trump-human-trafficking-programs-cut\">rolling back<\/a>&nbsp;Federal anti-child trafficking programs, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-launches-inquiry-after-reports-that-trump-administration-rolled-back-child-protection-programs\/\">demanded answers about reported cuts<\/a>&nbsp;to key initiatives to combat child exploitation and deprioritized trafficking prevention programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this month, the U.S. Senate&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/119th-congress\/senate-bill\/1049\">passed<\/a>&nbsp;Sens. Ossoff and Chuck Grassley (R-IA)\u2019s bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Preventing Child Trafficking Act of 2025<\/em>&nbsp;to strengthen coordination between the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to better stop child trafficking and protect kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this year, Sens. Ossoff and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN)&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sens-ossoff-blackburn-introduce-bipartisan-bill-to-strengthen-support-for-human-trafficking-victims-2\/\">introduced<\/a>&nbsp;the bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Supporting Victims of Human Trafficking Act<\/em>, which would cut red tape to better respond to the needs of service organizations working with victims of human trafficking and create additional flexibility in certain grant programs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, Sen. Ossoff\u2019s bipartisan&nbsp;<em>REPORT Act<\/em>&nbsp;with Sen.
