Washington, D.C. <\/strong>\u2014 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working across the aisle to bolster American manufacturing and economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Ossoff recently cosponsored bipartisan legislation aimed at creating more manufacturing jobs in Georgia and nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bipartisan Critical Infrastructure Manufacturing Feasibility Act<\/em><\/a>, first introduced by Senators Joni Ernst (R-IA) and Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE), would require the U.S. Department of Commerce to conduct a study analyzing the feasibility of manufacturing critical infrastructure in the United States instead of importing them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have become heavily dependent upon overseas supply chains, leaving us vulnerable to increased cybersecurity risks and price fluctuations,\u201d Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong> \u201cThis bipartisan bill will take steps to mitigate those risks, while helping open the door to new manufacturing jobs in Georgia and across the nation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Ossoff continues working to strengthen Georgia\u2019s manufacturing and economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In May, Sen. Ossoff cosponsored<\/a> the bipartisan Simplifying Subcontracting Act<\/em>, which would simplify the process for small businesses to win Federal contracts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, Sen. Ossoff delivered $75 million<\/a> in Federal funding through the bipartisan CHIPS Act<\/em> to Absolics to strengthen domestic semiconductor production in Covington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also last year, Sen. Ossoff introduced his bipartisan American Tax Dollars for American Solar Manufacturing Act<\/em><\/a> to prevent Chinese companies from using tax credits intended to benefit American solar manufacturing companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023, alongside Senator Reverend Warnock and Congressman Sanford Bishop (GA-02), Sen. Ossoff helped deliver<\/a> <\/strong>a historic $80 million Federal grant to Blue Bird to expand its manufacturing facilities and to help build electric school buses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2022, Sen. Ossoff\u2019s landmark legislation to establish an expanded solar manufacturing tax credit was signed into law<\/a> as part of the Inflation Reduction Act<\/em> to supercharge domestic solar energy manufacturing & strengthen American energy independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
