Ossoff Pushing to Expand Support for Georgia Children with Disabilities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Washington, D.C.&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2014 U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working across the aisle to support Georgia children with disabilities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff is cosponsoring the bipartisan&nbsp;<em>FASD Respect Act<\/em>, which would expand Federal resources for children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) by improving support services, public health prevention, and research programs across agencies within the U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as many as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/fasd\/data\/index.html\">1 in 20<\/a>&nbsp;school-aged children may be affected by FASD, yet many children and families lack the necessary services or support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bipartisan&nbsp;<em>FASD Respect Act<\/em>, first introduced by Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), would establish Centers of Excellence to provide support for children and families affected by FASD and awareness and prevention efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEach child in Georgia deserves every opportunity to succeed. That is why I am working with both parties to expand much-needed resources for children with disabilities across Georgia and the Nation,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Sen. Ossoff said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Ossoff continues to advocate for people with disabilities across Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In August,&nbsp;Sens. Ossoff and John Kennedy (R-LA)&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sens-ossoff-kennedy-introduce-bipartisan-bill-to-support-disabled-veterans-small-businesses\/\">introduced<\/a>&nbsp;the&nbsp;<em>Service-Disabled Veteran Opportunities in Small Business Act<\/em>&nbsp;to help disabled veterans\u2019 small businesses thrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In April, Sen. Ossoff&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ossoff.senate.gov\/es\/press-releases\/sen-ossoff-pushing-to-strengthen-support-for-georgians-with-disabilities-2\/\">cosponsored<\/a>&nbsp;the bipartisan&nbsp;<em>Ensuring Nationwide Access to a Better Life Experience (ENABLE) Act&nbsp;<\/em>to extend tax benefits for people with disabilities and help them save for future expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In January, Sen.
